Preventative Maintenance is the best way to try and ensure that your equipment will run as long as possible. During a maintenance check, problems can be found that normally would not show themselves until you have a larger problem.
April Air provides a 24 point maintenance check including the following items:
During an Air conditioning Check
- check the amp draw of the compressor
- check the run capicitor for the compressor
- check the amp draw of the outdoor fan motor
- check the run capicitor fo the outdoor fan motor
- check the outdoor fan motor for bearing issues
- check the amp draw of the indoor fan motor
- check the run capicitor for the indoor fan motor
- check the indoor fan motor for bearing issues
- check the indoor fan motor belt (if installed)
- check the refrigerate level of the unit
- check the condition of the contactor
- check the return air temperature and supply air temperature for the correct differential
- check the entering air temperature and leaving air temperature for the correct differential
- check the condition of the wiring
- check the condition of the wiring connectors
- check the condensate drain
- check the condensate pump (if installed)
- check the primary drain
- check the secondary drain
- check your filter
- check your thermostat for proper starting and ending including the temperature accuracy
- check the defrost cycle
During a Furnace Check
- check the home for CO2 emissions from the unit
- check the furance for proper firing procedures
- check the burners for rust and condition
- check the thermocouple for proper operation
- check the flue for proper installation
- check the return air temperature and supply temperature for correct differential
